summer knitting forevvvvver
we think summer in Berlin is fading out, and yet we might get to extend the fun ...
Like many times before I thought, aw well, this season is fading, and then there is another boost. This year it keeps on happening for sure, each season giving us another week or so of extened joy…
Currently we have sunny and warm days here in Berlin, yes= they start later and darken early, but sitting on the balcony in the evenings is comfortable still, during the day-time insects are still buzzing by to check the blooms and my garden wants daily watering visits, too.
I guess it is going but not with a final hoozar…
.. and on that note: I am offering a 15% summer sale. because after summer comes : SUMMER! Sale runs for this last week of September only, so please go have a look at all things zine, bags, totes, stickers and pins in my etsy shop. (no code needed!)

I am writing to you today to share about my yarnchix goodies sale with you, as well as a quick list of things I did this summer that made me smile.
LIST of things that made me smile in no particular order:
liebes Wedding strickt in July when we were 25 people sitting outside and having such a lovely summer evening crafting and chatting! Next meet up is tomorrow Tuesday 24th September 19:30.
my garden and the wilderness bloom fun created with Nasturnikum and Tagetes mixing in with the vegetables & fruit. Edible flowers love forever.
finishing a summer stripes shawl from scraps and leftovers I had gathered from previous projects as well as gifted by my friends & colleagues… a rainbow of archive yarns and yes, still I have leftovers, the quest to use it all remains in place.
finding a new little swim spot and having my knitting with me, these trees were gorgeous and I spent a long time on an early September day lookign up, listening to the wind gently bring down leaves around us - it was simply a magical moment.
camping in Cornwall and the utmost madness of storms at night in a tent. I am not sure how this now is a favorite memory, yet sleepless nights because windy storms are kinda cool. I guess it’s hindsight, because honestly, I felt a little more then uneasy whilst it happened.
Tintagel castle and the rugged sea nearby. (Acctually, I feel like i want to write about that place & its energy sometime in a separate letter to you as it was simply magical to be there!)
going to a cool car-boot market , meeting my friend Holly who introduced me to her friend Rosa and then visiting Holly at work on the next day was magical.
building sand castles with our big family, watching the tides wash over them, and then creating a big turtle from the shape in the sand… with shell be-dazzlement and all. Magic!
Reading “Time Shelter” by Georgi Gospodinov, “Roman Stories” by Jhumpa Lahiri and “Little Rot” by Akweke Emezi all three extremely different styles and language wise : interesting trio.
getting swept up into a friend fun knit-along by Nora & Nicola using Lanivendole yarn bought at Wedding Wool Weekend and ordered afterwards . We are knitting our individual yet sister Vertices Unite shawls.

I am hopig that you are well… that wherever you currently are, you too feel the tickle of sunshine and warmth on your skin …
or that you can feel the season’s change coming and that you get to enjoy the cozy comfort of that ebb and flow.
I am still in the midst of my summer knitting (there are three lino muka projects on my needles) and would like to argue: summer knitting is ALWAYS a good idea ;)
I have run out of yarn for finishing the utmost gorgeous disco trousers (design by le pull) and am a little worried, will it need to be on hold until 2025 with lino muka royal blue currently sold out??? rrrgh… let’s wait and see.
I am working on the back panel for the Luminos tee (design by yamagara) and am having so much fun using the Kiezgarn lino muka “Zimt & Zitrone” colourway. Nora is runing a summer-sale herself including her lino muka hand-dyed series… you might want to check it out because= Speckle knit fun for the win.
